Job Description

Process Control Engineer Position Overview A well-established, multi-site manufacturing company is seeking a Process Control Engineer to support and enhance automation systems within a fast-paced production environment. This role will focus on control system optimization, HMI development, and execution of control strategies that drive efficiency, reliability, and overall plant performance. Key Responsibilities Develop and refine automation strategies to improve process stability, product quality, and operational efficiency Create and maintain technical documentation such as control narratives, loop documentation, and system backups Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues in collaboration with maintenance and operations teams Work cross-functionally to support capital projects, system upgrades, and new equipment integration Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to optimize automation and workflows Leadership Scope Provide technical input and support for projects; level of leadership responsibility will align with experience Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Electrical, Chemical, or related Engineering field. 5+ years of experience supporting industrial automation, controls, or manufacturing systems within a process-driven environment. Hands-on experience working with distributed control systems (DCS) and industrial automation platforms in a manufacturing setting. Familiarity with major PLC platforms and industrial control hardware used in continuous manufacturing operations. Experience supporting automation projects from design and implementation through commissioning and troubleshooting. Working knowledge of industrial IT infrastructure including Windows-based systems, virtualization, networking, data historians, and database environments. Understanding of industrial communication protocols and connectivity methods used in plant operations. Knowledge of instrumentation, process control strategies, and control loop functionality. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, maintenance, and production teams. Proven analytical and troubleshooting abilities with a continuous improvement mindset. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining organization and attention to detail. Self-motivated learner with a commitment to ongoing technical and professional development.
Pay:
$135,000.00 per year
