What We Are Looking For Primary Purpose:
The Senior Process Engineer will provide technical support activities as assigned, including gas conditioning, NGL/Condensate recovery, dehydration, hydrocarbon dew point control, Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) treatment, process modeling and optimization, and project management
What You Will Do Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide modeling of Oil and Gas Treating facilities to address design concerns, operational questions, capacity constraints, or new project development. This includes CO 2 and H 2 S treating, Propane Refrigeration Units, Condensate/NGL Stabilizers, JT units, and TEG Dehydrators. Review customer specifications for new quotes and recognize/highlight non-standard specifications. Provide a complete bid/quote package for new opportunities, including Heat and Material Balance, Equipment Sizing, Major Equipment List (MEL), Cost Sheet, and Plant Layout. Develop and review P&IDs Create and review vessel datasheets. Review and approve all design and drafting deliverables (pressure vessel drawings, skid GA drawings, etc.) Review and approve ASME calculations for pressure vessels. Size control equipment (control valves, PSVs, pressure regulators, etc.) Review and approve I&E documents (instrument index, cause and effect diagram, instrument data sheets, etc.) Interact with the suppliers/vendors to obtain quotations for major equipment and control equipment. Technical review and comparison of the vendor quotes. Coordinate with the procurement department to purchase major equipment and control equipment. Communicate with vendors/suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with the customer's requirements. Understand the customer's quality requirements. Perform plant walk-down (at the fabrication shop) to ensure compliance with the final approved design. Review the final job book. Participate in HAZOP studies. Support activities for commissioning and startup. Address customers' questions/concerns during the fabrication phase and plant operation. Provide technical guidance and input to Project Management and Operations groups. This includes process modeling (using ProMax software) for new facilities, plant troubleshooting, plant optimization, development of maintenance and operating procedures, equipment design, and assessment of equipment during the refurbishment process. Provide technical guidance and input to the Business Development Group. This includes preliminary equipment sizing, new application modeling, and providing technical answers to customers accurately and promptly. Recognize and promote ideas that provide safer, more efficient, and cost-effective operations. Act as a point of contact and provide support for projects during execution phases, including, but not limited to, responding to technical queries and leading pre-start-up safety reviews.
What You Need Minimum Requirements:
Education:
B.S. or advanced degree in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering.
Experience / Specific
Knowledge (Preferred): 10 years of demonstrated Oil and Gas industry experience. Process Engineering experience is preferred Experience in both plant design (EPC) and plant operation (O&M) is preferred Proficiency in using process simulation software such as ProMax to design and troubleshoot gas-treating equipment Ability to meet deadlines and provide deliverables for a multitude of simultaneous projects. Ability to work with a variety of different groups throughout the organization. Ability to communicate through written technical and non-technical reports, email, and public speaking when required Experience with designing, evaluating, and troubleshooting Amine and TEG Dehydrator units, Condensate / NGL Stabilizers plants is required. Experience with Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) processing is preferred Strong verbal and written skills. Basic understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, mass transfer, and fluid mechanics. Familiarity with mechanical design (piping stress analysis and skid design) is a plus PMP certification is a plus
Competencies, Skills, and Abilities:
Professional Engineering affiliation (e.g., PE, APPEGA, etc.) is preferred Teamwork, communication, and problem-solving Experience in process modeling using ProMax Ability to size process control equipment (PSV, control valves, pressure regulator) Ability to review/create Cause & Effect charts and Instrument Data Sheets Strong knowledge of P&ID development, Isometric, and GA drawings is required Must demonstrate initiative and self-motivation Must be able to accept direction and supervision and work effectively and cooperatively with all personnel and customers Ability to lead and manage people in maintaining, changing, and/or improving performance in the area of safety, operational excellence, and risk reduction Ability to effectively communicate using both verbal and written forms of communication with internal and external parties Effective computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project)
Working Conditions:
The regular work environment is typically in an office. However, work will often require the engineer to be outside at facilities and exposed to heat, cold, and inclement weather; 50%-75% may involve computer-related activities Work inside and outside and occasionally travel to the headquarters offices in Houston, as required
