  • Team Lead is responsible for ensuring products meet established quality standards throughout development and production.
This mid-level role applies expertise in quality assurance processes, testing methodologies, and regulatory compliance to support consistent product performance. The position also contributes to process improvements and may lead small teams or cross-functional initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality outcomes. Essential Duties Analyze current manufacturing and industrial processes to identify areas for improvement in productivity, quality, and cost. Design, develop, and implement optimized workflows, process layouts, and operational procedures. Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related issues. Introduce and standardize process controls to ensure consistent production performance. Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to validate and scale new or revised processes. Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of process engineers and technical staff. Manage daily engineering tasks, assign responsibilities, and ensure project timelines and deliverables are met. Set clear standards of technical quality, efficiency, and accountability within the team. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Lead cross-functional initiatives that impact process efficiency, product quality, and operational capability. Interface with other departments (e.g., Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, Supply Chain) to align engineering activities with business goals. Coordinate resources, timelines, and documentation for process improvement projects. Represent the team in meetings, provide status updates, and align team output with company-wide objectives. Maintain a leadership balance of approximately 75% inward focus—aligning, mentoring, and driving team performance—and 25% outward focus—coordinating with stakeholders, managing projects, and contributing to strategic planning.

Develop, implement, and execute process plans and work instructions aligned with product requirements and operational needs. Identify, document, and track process gaps, breakdowns, and inefficiencies through to resolution. Perform root cause analysis and work closely with engineering and production teams to resolve process issues and improve execution. Ensure processes align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal operational frameworks. Conduct process audits, validations, and workflow assessments across incoming materials, production, and final assembly. Contribute to and enforce process standards, operating procedures, and best practices across the organization. Participate in the development and continuous improvement of process workflows, tooling, and execution methods. Analyze process performance trends and drive corrective and preventive actions to improve efficiency, consistency, and output. Support implementation and sustainment of operational systems (e.g., ISO-aligned processes, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar). Maintain clear and structured documentation of process activities, changes, performance metrics, and outcomes. Prepare process performance reports and communicate findings, risks, and improvements to stakeholders. Lead process-focused initiatives or coordinate cross-functional efforts to improve workflow, throughput, and execution stability. Mentor junior engineers and team members on process ownership, standard work, and continuous improvement practices. Collaborate with engineering, production, and operations teams to ensure alignment on process expectations, execution, and deliverables. Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of team members with a focus on process discipline and operational consistency. All other duties assigned. Education Required 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.. Experience Required 6+ years of experience in process, design, quality engineering roles, manufacturing or assembly process engineering environments. Preferred 1 year of experience in a leadership or project management role. Honorably discharged service veterans are preferred. Certifications, Licenses & Registrations None Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Experience in managing or mentoring junior Process engineers. Knowledge of regulatory standards (ISO 9001, UL, ASQ etc.). Certifications in Sigma, 5S, Process Controls (e.g., ASQ CQE, ISTQB, Six Sigma). Familiarity with Process tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Lead cross-functional teams to execute engineering projects from concept through implementation. Manage timelines, resources, and budgets for assigned projects. . Coordinate with production supervisors to implement process changes with minimal disruption. Deep understanding of manufacturing and industrial engineering principles, including process optimization, quality control, cost reduction strategies, and day-to-day team workflows. Proficient in workflow and facility layout design, process mapping, operational efficiency techniques, and standard operating procedures. Familiarity with process control systems, root cause analysis methods, and CAPA frameworks, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-through. Understanding of cross-functional alignment between engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and R&D teams, including coordination of tasks, tools, and workflows. Knowledge of project management fundamentals, including resource planning, timeline development, documentation standards, and basic reporting procedures. Awareness of industry regulations, technical quality standards, operational compliance requirements, and applicable company policies. Strong analytical skills to assess current-state processes, identify improvement opportunities, and track performance with precision. Proficiency in designing and implementing optimized manufacturing workflows and standard operating procedures that support consistency and accountability. Skilled in leading root cause analysis, process validation, and implementation of corrective actions with disciplined execution. Team leadership and people development skills, including mentoring, basic conflict resolution, and coaching of engineers and technical staff. Project management and task delegation capabilities to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and ensure high-quality deliverables. Ability to foster cross-functional collaboration to support scalable, sustainable, and well-coordinated process changes. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to represent team performance, priorities, and outcomes through clear reporting and updates. Ability to lead and motivate teams in a high-performance technical environment while modeling ownership and accountability. Ability to establish and enforce technical quality, efficiency, and accountability standards. Ability to balance internal team development (approximately 75%) with external coordination and strategic contribution (approximately 25%). Ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent engineering initiatives and improvement projects with attention to detail. Ability to align engineering activities with broader business objectives and company strategy. Ability to promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability. Ability to translate technical data and project outcomes into clear, actionable insights for leadership and stakeholders.
