Founded in 1990 and based in New Richmond, WI, Isometric's vision was to manufacture tooling and provide manufacturing solutions to exacting specifications for ultra-small, ultra-precise, and ultra-complex applications. For the past 36 years, we're proud to say we've grown to be one of the largest medical-focused micro molders in the United States. In March 2024, Isometric was acquired by Nissha Medical Technologies (NMT) , a global Contract Design/Development Manufacturing Organization. NMT's expertise in the design and development of endoscopic devices, combined with Isometric's micro-molding capabilities, have the potential to redefine the realm of minimally invasive surgical instruments and surgical robotics. Together, we aim to address the changing demands of medical devices by enhancing component miniaturization and improving the maneuverability of small and precision components, ultimately advancing medical efficiency. It's an exciting time to join our team, and we're hiring for a 1st shift Process Development Technician. This role supports the development, optimization, and documentation of processes used to manufacture injection molded components. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 6:00AM-3:30PM.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Assist in performing mold setups, including installation, removal, and basic maintenance of molds, tooling, and auxiliary equipment. Support process development activities such as machine setup, parameter adjustments, and trial runs under direction from higher-level staff or engineers. Collect, record, and organize process data, including cycle times, temperatures, pressures, and material usage for evaluation and documentation. Help execute process validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ), ensuring all protocols are followed and documentation is complete. Assist in identifying process issues such as flash, short shots, sink marks, or cosmetic defects and report finding to senior technicians or engineers. Maintain accurate and timely production records, development logs, and documentation for new or modified processes. Follow all safety, quality, and cleanroom procedures in compliance with industry standards (ISO13485). Support continuous improvement efforts, such as reducing scrap, improving cycle times, and enhancing process robustness. Other duties as assigned. Education and/or
Experience:
Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Basic understanding of injection molding machines, thermoplastic materials, tooling, or manufacturing process. Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools, gauges, and measurement equipment. Ability to read basic technical documents, work instructions, and part drawings. Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow instructions. Basic knowledge of safety practices in manufacturing environments. Preferred Technical certificate or associate degree in plastics, manufacturing, or similar field. Foundational skills in molding process development. Willingness to learn new tools, materials, and process techniques. Ability to work in fast paced, production focused environments. Certification in plastics injection molding. Computer proficiency in MS Work and ERP systems. Knowledge of cleanroom practices.
