Job Description

Northern Energy Services Project Engineer Job Description:
This position is responsible for planning and managing construction projects on Alaska's North Slope. The Project Engineer ensures that technical and reporting requirements are followed, that project time, cost coding, cost reporting and billing are accurate. This position is also responsible for writing proposals and assisting in bidding work. We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual who will take the initiative and do what it takes to get the job done. The successful candidate must maintain a safe work environment and work as a team player with a positive attitude to accomplish any task given. This position is based on the North Slope with a three on three off rotational schedule. Projects vary in type, but during the winter season are typically ice road construction project. Typical work hours are from 5:00 am to 6:00 pm
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Plan and manage construction projects to achieve quality, schedule, budget and safety objectives. Communicate with clients/owners, subcontractors, other service providers to ensure a safe and efficient project for all parties. Compile daily reports, weekly reports, cost reporting and weekly billing summaries. Complete job planning/scheduling and client readiness packages prior to field work starting. Assist in responding to Requests for Proposals (RFP) and writing execution plans. Estimate and bid projects ranging in size from small single day projects to large multi season projects Travel to projects for site visits on a regular basis and potentially spend one or two hitches on Slope. Other duties as required
Qualifications:
Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office programs and Project/P6 Scheduling Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications. Ability to clearly write an execution plan and responds to client requirements. Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. Ability to accurately solve problems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees, supervisors, other departments. Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
Education Requirements:
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability and skills to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position. Four-year college degree in engineering or project management is preferable.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) Drivers License Must pass a drug and alcohol test
Experience:
Five plus years construction experience preferred.
