Job Description:
Overview We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Engineer to support utility infrastructure projects within a heavy industrial / commercial construction environment. This individual will play a key role in project planning, execution, and closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in compliance with all regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Participate in project teams to develop: Project scope, cost estimates, and schedules Detailed construction plans and outage requirements Conduct site visits and field assessments to validate scope Support development of project schedules, including critical path analysis Identify required permits and develop detailed project estimates Coordinate with Utility Company major accounts group on outages impacting customers Develop and manage construction bid packages: Lead pre-bid meetings Review contractor proposals and support vendor selection Participate in constructability reviews across disciplines: Site, foundation, electrical, relay, and transmission line Perform quality assurance checks throughout construction Monitor project progress against in-service dates Ensure adherence to utility procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards Manage contract closeout and ensure completion of as-built documentation Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience in heavy industrial or commercial construction Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field Strong knowledge of: Construction practices, techniques, and quality standards Applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements OSHA and environmental regulations Experience with construction contracts and labor agreements Ability to coordinate with contractors, vendors, engineers, and cross-functional teams Working knowledge of rigging and lifting methods Key Skills- Self-starter with a proactive mindset Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Detail-oriented with strong planning and organizational capabilities Ability to manage multiple project priorities in a fast-paced environment
