This role combines hands-on technical expertise with project management and team leadership, supporting projects from proposal through construction. You will act as a technical authority, overseeing subsurface investigations, analyses, and foundation design while collaborating with internal teams and maintaining strong client relationships. This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality, practical ground engineering solutions aligned with project goals and budgets. Key Responsibilities Lead geotechnical engineering projects from proposal through completion Plan and oversee subsurface investigations, drilling programs, and laboratory testing Perform and review analyses including: Settlement and bearing capacity Slope stability Earth retention systems Ground improvement recommendations Prepare and review detailed geotechnical reports and design recommendations Provide foundation design guidance based on site conditions and project requirements Collaborate with civil, structural, and CMT teams for integrated project delivery Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time and on-budget execution Support client relationships, including meetings, presentations, and technical discussions Mentor junior engineers and review technical work for quality and accuracy Assist with proposals, budgeting, and business development efforts Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred) Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain licensure in Alabama 8-12+ years of geotechnical engineering experience in a consulting environment Strong expertise in site investigations, foundation design, and geotechnical analysis Experience managing projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams Solid understanding of industry standards, codes, and best practices Excellent communication skills with client-facing experience What the Organization Offers Competitive base salary + performance-based bonuses Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO) Opportunity to step into senior technical leadership and mentorship roles Strong internal support with access to multidisciplinary resources Clear progression into Principal or Department Leadership positions A collaborative, technically driven culture focused on quality and long-term success Click the link to apply directly to this job posting, or contact me directly at: +1 980‑201‑7962 Job Alerts Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Senior Transportation Program Manager| Austin
