Role:
Quanta Power Solutions is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer I to support the design and development of structural systems for power generation, renewable energy, battery energy storage system (BESS), substation, transmission, and industrial infrastructure projects. This entry-level engineering role provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary project teams while developing technical expertise in structural analysis, design, and EPC project execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering foundation, a desire to learn and grow within the power and industrial sectors, and the ability to contribute to high-quality engineering deliverables throughout all phases of project development.
What You'll Do:
Structural Design & Analysis Support the design and analysis of structural systems for power generation, renewable energy, BESS, transmission, substation, and industrial facilities.
Assist in the development of:
Structural steel framing designs Equipment support structures Foundations and anchor systems Pipe rack structures Equipment platforms and access structures Building structures and enclosures Transmission and utility support structures Perform basic structural calculations and engineering analyses under the guidance of senior engineers. Assist with structural modeling and analysis using industry-standard engineering software. Support the preparation of design calculations, reports, and technical documentation. Project Execution Support projects through conceptual design, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases. Assist in preparing construction drawings, specifications, and material take-offs. Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and drafting teams to support integrated project execution. Review project specifications, vendor information, and applicable codes and standards. Assist with tracking project deliverables and meeting project schedules. Engineering Documentation Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and design packages. Assist with reviewing structural drawings and deliverables for accuracy and compliance. Support development of structural design criteria and project documentation. Maintain organized engineering records and documentation throughout project execution. Construction & Field Support Participate in site visits, field investigations, and existing condition assessments. Support construction activities by responding to Requests for Information (RFIs) and reviewing field conditions. Assist with evaluating field modifications and updating engineering documents as required. Support startup and commissioning activities as needed.
What You'll Bring:
Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis or Structural Engineering from an accredited university. Master's Degree in Structural Engineering is a plus. 0-3 years of relevant structural engineering experience. Internship, co-op, or project experience in industrial, utility, energy, or EPC environments is preferred. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred or ability to obtain shortly after hire. Technical Skills Familiarity with structural engineering principles and design methodologies.
Basic knowledge of:
Structural steel design Reinforced concrete design Foundation design Load calculations Structural analysis methods Familiarity with industry codes and standards, including:
AISC ASCE 7 ACI IBC
Experience with or exposure to: STAAD.Pro
RISA SAP2000
Mathcad AutoCAD Revit Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Professional Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Eagerness to learn and develop technical expertise within the power and industrial sectors. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods Ability to travel occasionally for site visits, field investigations, and project support activities. Ability to work in industrial and construction environments as required.
