Job Title:
Project Engineer Job Description This contract Project Engineer role supports a National Park rehabilitation project involving four buildings with varying specifications. Over a 3-4 month period, you will work closely with quality control personnel and subcontractors to manage and review submittals, verify compliance with project specifications and drawings, and coordinate documentation through Procore. This position offers consistent full-time hours and the opportunity to contribute to structural, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression system upgrades in existing bathhouse facilities. Responsibilities Assist the quality control team with managing subcontractor submittals throughout the project lifecycle. Review subcontractor submittals to ensure they meet all project specifications, codes, and requirements. Compare submittals against project specifications and blueprints to verify accuracy and compliance. Prepare, organize, and submit approved submittals to the client through Procore. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all submittals and related correspondence within Procore. Communicate clearly and professionally with the client, quality control staff, and subcontractors regarding submittal status, required revisions, and approvals. Support the coordination of structural, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression system improvements for existing bathhouse buildings. Collaborate with the project team to resolve discrepancies between submittals, specifications, and drawings. Contribute to overall construction management activities as needed to support successful project delivery. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Construction Management (CM degree). Prior internship experience in construction or construction management. Hands-on experience using Procore for construction project documentation and submittal management. Ability to read, interpret, and work from construction blueprints and drawings. Strong understanding of construction specifications and submittal processes. Foundational knowledge of construction and construction management practices. Attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing technical documents. Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients and subcontractors. Ability to work full-time hours consistently over the 3-4 month contract period. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience supporting rehabilitation or renovation projects for existing buildings. Familiarity with structural, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems in a construction context. Ability to collaborate effectively with quality control personnel and multidisciplinary project teams. Strong organizational skills for managing multiple submittals and deadlines simultaneously. Problem-solving skills to help address discrepancies between submittals, specifications, and blueprints. Work Environment This is a 3-4 month contract position with an expected schedule of approximately 40 hours per week. You will work on a National Park project focused on rehabilitating four existing bathhouse buildings, including structural improvements and upgrades to electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems. The role involves frequent use of Procore and regular interaction with quality control staff, subcontractors, and the client. Work may take place in a combination of office and on-site settings typical of active construction projects. Travel and lodging are supported with per diem for days worked and lodging per diem on weekends, aligned with applicable guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Hot Springs, AR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $41.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
