Job Description

About the Role Engco Group is a Texas-based engineering and construction company looking for a Structural Engineer to join our team. A large portion of our work involves steel buildings, including pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB), so strong experience with steel design and fabrication detailing is essential. You'll also work on other building types as projects come in, so versatility is a plus. Familiarity with US codes (IBC, AISC, ACI) is preferred, but a strong willingness to learn and apply Texas-specific standards is essential. This role works closely with our US team, so clear and consistent communication on progress, blockers, and timelines is just as important as your technical skills. What You'll Do Design steel buildings including columns, beams, plates, bracings, connections, and base plates Produce fabrication-ready detailing for steel structures Perform structural analysis and design for foundations, framing, and lateral systems Prepare structural drawings, calculations, and specifications Coordinate with architectural, civil, and MEP teams to resolve design conflicts Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs during fabrication and construction Design structural systems for other building types including concrete, wood, and masonry as needed Communicate regularly with the US team on project status, blockers, and next steps What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred) 2+ years of relevant experience in structural design Proficiency in structural analysis software such as Robot Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit Strong experience with steel design and fabrication detailing Working knowledge of
AISC, ACI, ASCE
7, and IBC codes Ability to perform load calculations and lateral analysis independently Strong written and verbal English communication skills Reliable, self-directed, and responsive when working across time zones Nice to Have Experience with pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB) Familiarity with Tekla Structures or SDS/2 for steel detailing Prior experience on US-based projects, especially in Texas Familiarity with Texas wind load requirements and hurricane-zone design Skills Structural Engineering Steel Design Steel Fabrication Detailing Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB) Connection Design AutoCAD Revit Robot Structural Analysis Advance Steel AISC Code ACI Code
