Position Summary We are seeking a driven and solutions-oriented Civil Engineer / Project Engineer to support mining and heavy industrial operations through the planning, design, execution, and continuous improvement of critical infrastructure, construction, and site development projects. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations across mine sites, haul roads, drainage systems, earthworks, and supporting facilities. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced field environment, enjoys solving complex operational challenges, and is passionate about building practical engineering solutions that directly impact production, safety, and long-term site performance. Key Responsibilities Engineering & Project Support Design, evaluate, and support construction and maintenance of mine infrastructure, including haul roads, leach pads, drainage systems, stormwater controls, and site development projects Assist with grading plans, earthwork calculations, and civil design specifications Prepare and review engineering drawings, technical reports, scopes of work, and project documentation Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Environmental, and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution Field Operations & Site Development Conduct site inspections and field assessments to monitor project progress, identify issues, and recommend solutions Support mine planning and operational improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, and cost efficiency Assist with infrastructure planning related to expansions, reclamation, and operational improvements Evaluate site conditions, materials, drainage, and geotechnical considerations affecting construction activities Compliance & Safety Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable MSHA, environmental, and regulatory requirements Support safe work planning and participate in field-level hazard assessments Promote a strong safety culture and exercise Stop Work Authority when necessary Project Coordination Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedules, budgets, and quality expectations Coordinate with vendors, consultants, surveyors, and contractors to support project deliverables Assist with procurement support, contractor oversight, and project tracking/reporting Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related field required 3+ years of engineering experience in mining, construction, heavy civil, industrial, or related environments required Experience with grading, drainage, earthworks, and site development projects strongly preferred Expert in use of MS Excel, MS Project , or other similar project management tools Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, or related engineering software preferred Strong understanding of construction methods, project coordination, and field operations Must be able to communicate effectively in English, in verbal and written contexts Must have legal authorization to work in the United States, or the ability to achieve authorization without financial support of the Company Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to balance field operations with technical engineering responsibilities Effective communication and collaboration skills across all organizational levels Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines Comfortable working in active mining and industrial environments Work Environment Combination of office and field-based work in a mining environment Exposure to outdoor conditions, uneven terrain, dust, noise, and heavy equipment operations Travel to mine sites or project locations may be required, up to 100% of the time Why Join Us This is an opportunity to directly influence large-scale mining operations and infrastructure projects while working alongside experienced operational leaders in a dynamic and growing industry.
