Job Title:
Structural Test Team Leader Job Description We are seeking a dynamic leader to head the Structural Test team at the forefront of innovation, working with the latest in aviation and defense technologies. This role involves overseeing structural testing for new airframes and associated systems, ensuring mission-ready performance and shaping the future of aerospace technology. Responsibilities Plan and manage technical performance to ensure quality, business, and financial objectives are achieved. Review engineering designs, plans, analysis, and technical work for accuracy and conformance to project requirements. Support the Structural Test team with test planning, fixture design, analysis, execution, and reporting for airframe and components. Troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements and special material requirements. Lead a team of experienced professional staff, providing direction to design or technical staff. Participate in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of required management, professional, and technical talent. Lead progress review sessions to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Identify engineering issues and provide leadership in developing solutions such as resource re-allocation or contract specification modification. May participate in the development and expansion of business opportunities. Ensure all laws, regulations, and obligations are observed and work is accomplished safely. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline. Twelve or more years of experience with a bachelor's degree, ten or more years with a master's degree, or seven or more years with a PhD. Knowledge in the application of engineering principles, concepts, and theory. Strong familiarity with statics, including free body diagrams, shear/moment/torsion plots, and stress calculations. Familiarity with sensors such as strain gages, load cells, and data acquisition methods. Experience with design and analysis of test fixtures. Project management and leadership skills, including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads. Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to resolve management and technical problems. Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance. Additional Skills & Qualifications A Professional Engineering License. Original work(s) published in professional engineering journals. Work Environment Work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with innovative products. Requires the ability to work extended hours and travel as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Adelanto, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $116000.00 - $208000.00/yr. Competitive salary and medical benefits, 401K Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Adelanto,CA.
