Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Construction Management Assistant Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the planning, coordination, and oversight of construction projects, ensuring they are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to facilitate smooth project execution from inception through completion. Responsibilities Assist in developing and maintaining detailed project schedules using project scheduling tools to ensure timely delivery of milestones. Support the preparation of construction estimates and cost analysis using construction estimating software. Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and Review contractor submittals in accordance with City standards and project documents compliance. Contribute to project management activities by tracking progress, updating schedules, and preparing reports. Conduct site inspections and oversee construction inspection activities to verify adherence to design specifications and safety standards. Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and ArcGIS for spatial analysis and mapping related to land surveying, pipeline layouts, or water/wastewater systems. Assist in system design tasks involving hydraulics, geotechnical engineering data, water treatment processes, or wastewater treatment systems using specialized software like HEC or SWMM. Support technical writing efforts for project documentation, reports, and system schematics. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project engineering tasks related to civil engineering, mechanical engineering, land surveying, or system design. Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or related field; recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Familiarity with construction management principles and practices. Experience with project scheduling software and tools such as MS Project or Primavera is preferred. Analyze field data pertaining to grades, alignments and topographical features and provide recommendations to Engineering and Contract Administration staff. Exposure to GIS applications like ArcGIS or GIS-based mapping tools is a plus. Understanding of construction estimating techniques and cost control methods. Basic proficiency in technical writing for reports and documentation related to construction projects. Strong math skills with experience in Mathcad or similar calculation tools is advantageous.
