The role focuses on delivering safe, code-compliant, and cost-effective structural solutions, mentoring junior engineers, coordinating with architects and contractors, and supporting business development. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with professional licensure (PE) and experience across structural systems and software tools. Key Responsibilities Lead structural design and analysis for buildings and foundations, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. Prepare, review, and stamp structural drawings, calculations, and technical reports as the licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Mentor and supervise junior engineers and drafters; provide technical guidance and quality control for project deliverables. Coordinate with architects, contractors, geotechnical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural solutions with project requirements and schedules. Perform seismic design and retrofit assessments; develop practical solutions for lateral force-resisting systems. Use structural engineering software and CAD tools to model, analyze, and document designs (e.g., RISA, AutoCAD). Manage multiple projects and priorities, maintain project budgets and schedules, and communicate progress to clients and internal teams. Participate in business development activities including proposals, scope definition, and client meetings to grow our services. Conduct site visits and construction support, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals to resolve field issues. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Masters degree preferred. Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the relevant state(s). Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience with building and foundation design. Strong engineering fundamentals with demonstrable experience in seismic design and lateral force-resisting systems (nice to have). Proficient in structural analysis and design software; experience with RISA is a plus. Skilled in creating and reviewing construction drawings using AutoCAD; framing and foundation detailing experience preferred. Excellent technical writing, communication, and client-facing skills; ability to mentor junior staff and manage projects. Experience with construction administration, site observation, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
