Job Description

Structural EngineerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a diligent Structural Engineer to design and analyze building and infrastructure systems that are safe, efficient, and code-compliant. The role focuses on structural design, collaboration with architects and contractors, and the production of construction documents. The successful candidate will apply engineering principles to develop practical solutions, support project delivery from concept through construction, and contribute to technical review and quality assurance.

Key ResponsibilitiesPerform structural analysis and design for buildings and infrastructure using industry codes and standards.

Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, and specifications for construction documents.

Collaborate with architects, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop design solutions and integrate structural systems.

Conduct site visits and construction observation to verify compliance with design intent and resolve field issues.

Perform peer reviews and quality checks on structural deliverables to ensure accuracy and code compliance.

Support project estimations, prepare technical reports, and assist in responding to client and contractor requests for information (RFIs).Develop and maintain engineering standards, design procedures, and best practices.

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance within the team.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field; Masters degree preferred.

Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred; EIT/FE acceptable with progress toward PE.Proven experience in structural design and analysis for buildings or infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry), and relevant design codes.

Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, RISA, STAAD, or similar) and CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit).Excellent technical writing, communication, and teamwork skills.

Ability to perform site visits and construction observation as required.

Nice to have: experience in seismic design and performance-based seismic evaluation.
