Ramirez Company Azusa, CA Job Details Full-time $72,500 - $100,000 a year 6 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Opportunities for advancement Qualifications Civil engineering Teamwork Microsoft Excel Procurement Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Position Summary We are a construction company seeking an experienced and motivated Civil Engineer to support the planning, coordination, execution, and documentation of structural concrete and civil construction projects. This position plays a critical role in ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining RCCI quality and compliance standards. The Civil Engineer will collaborate closely with project managers, superintendents, estimators, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to support daily operations and long-term project success. Key ResponsibilitiesProject Engineering & Coordination Review and interpret project plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and contract documents. Assist with project planning, scheduling, and sequencing of work activities. Coordinate with field supervision to ensure work aligns with approved drawings and project requirements. Support project managers with budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and job costing. Assist with preparation and tracking of RFIs, submittals, change orders (CORs), and material procurement. Monitor production quantities, manpower, and daily field progress. Field & Construction Support Perform site visits and job walks to verify quality control, safety compliance, and progress. Coordinate inspections, testing, and documentation requirements. Support troubleshooting of field conditions and constructability issues. Assist with layout verification, grading coordination, and concrete placement planning. Ensure accurate daily reports and field documentation are maintained. Compliance & Documentation Maintain organized project records and documentation in company systems such as: ProCore Fieldwire Microsoft Teams Ensure project documentation aligns with contract requirements and audit standards. Support labor compliance and prevailing wage documentation when required. Assist with preparation of schedules, look-aheads, and client updates. Communication & Teamwork Communicate professionally with owners, general contractors, inspectors, architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors. Participate in internal project meetings and provide status updates. Collaborate with estimating and operations teams during project handoff and execution. Maintain strong working relationships with field crews and office staff. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred. EIT certification preferred; PE license is a plus. 6+ years of experience in civil construction, structural concrete, or public works preferred.
Strong understanding of:
Structural concrete construction Grading and site work Reinforcing steel coordination Construction scheduling RFIs and change order processes Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Experience with ProCore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar construction software preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work in both office and field environments. RCCI Expectations Maintain professionalism and teamwork at all times. Follow safety policies and jobsite requirements. Be proactive in identifying issues and providing solutions. Physical Requirements Ability to walk active construction sites. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Ability to travel between job sites as needed.
