Job Description
My client, a growing Civil engineering firm located in Brea, CA is seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to join their on site team. The company focuses on engineering relating to grading, drainage, water resources and hydrology. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' previous experience in Civil Engineering with a particular speciality in draingage, waste water, and water treatment design, hand in hand with effective design, drawing interpertation, project oversight and management of junior engineers, as well as on-site and officed based experience. The role will involve site surveying, project planning and overview, design and overseeing drafting, use of AutoCad and liaising with clients and local authorities. There will be pitential for future supervisory and team management work for the right candidate. PE engineers will be responsible for approving and signing off on plans. Duties Develop and review project plans, specifications, and schematics for civil engineering projects. Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation for drafting and design purposes. Conduct project scheduling to ensure timely completion of tasks and milestones. Collaborate with construction management teams to oversee project execution and ensure adherence to design specifications. Perform construction estimating to assess project costs and resource requirements. Engage in technical writing to prepare reports, documentation, and presentations related to project progress and findings. Implement GIS technologies for mapping and analyzing spatial data relevant to projects. Conduct site inspections to monitor construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Apply knowledge of hydraulics, geotechnical engineering, water treatment, wastewater treatment, and system design in project development. Coordinate with stakeholders including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred. Proficiency in software applications such as Bluebeam, Mathcad, HEC-RAS, Revit, Arc
GIS, SWMM
for effective project execution. Strong understanding of construction processes including land surveying, construction inspection, and pipeline design. Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Familiarity with drafting techniques and civil engineering principles is essential. Strong analytical skills with a solid foundation in mathematics relevant to engineering calculations. Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
