General Contractor Project Engineer

Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented General Contractor Project Engineer to join our dynamic construction team at C.T. Brayton and Sons, a General Contractor completing projects throughout the Central Valley for the last 80 years. In this vital role, you will serve as a key liaison between the owner, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure the successful execution of large-scale construction projects, especially healthcare projects. Your expertise in construction management software and project scheduling will drive project efficiency, quality, and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex projects from inception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with client expectations. Responsibilities Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project, vPlanner, and other construction management software tools. Assist in preparing accurate construction estimates and budgets. Coordinate daily activities on the construction site, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. Manage project documentation including subcontracts, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and submittals with precision and transparency. Utilize tools like Autodesk Build for document control, plan review, and communication among stakeholders. Monitor project progress through regular site visits, tracking milestones and updating schedules accordingly. Experience Experience working on commercial construction projects with a strong understanding of construction site operations. Demonstrated proficiency in construction management software such as Autodesk Build, Bluebeam, and similar tools. Hands-on experience with project scheduling, cost estimating, and contract management within a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with construction estimating processes and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Prior involvement in project coordination roles that required effective time management and communication skills. Strong background in construction management principles combined with excellent organizational skills to support multiple projects simultaneously. Join the C.T.
