This role is onsite in Irvine, CA with 25% travel (mostly SoCal / NV) KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Structural Engineering Manager (PE or SE) - Industrial Projects, Technical Leadership & Team Management We are seeking an experienced Manager of Structural Engineering to lead and manage all structural engineering activities within the department. This role is responsible for overseeing the design, quality, and execution of structural engineering projects while ensuring compliance with professional standards, client requirements, and company objectives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to mentor engineering teams while contributing to business development and project success. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Department Management Plan, organize, and manage all structural engineering activities within the department. Collaborate with the Manager of Engineering to establish long-term departmental goals and objectives. Ensure structural engineering services meet professional standards, client expectations, and company requirements. Oversee department productivity, performance, and quality of deliverables. Provide leadership, technical guidance, and mentorship to engineering staff. Support other engineering offices and departments as needed. Project Execution Participate in project planning, staffing, and resource allocation. Develop and review man-hour estimates for engineering design activities. Delegate engineering assignments and monitor project progress. Interface with Project Managers and the Manager of Engineering to determine project-specific staffing requirements. Provide technical input for conceptual estimating of structural materials during proposal development. Quality Assurance & Technical Oversight Perform Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) reviews of: Contract Documents Structural Calculations Technical Specifications Review and approve structural designs and engineering documentation. Stamp and seal engineering documents as required. Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and regulations. Business Development Enablement Participate in proposal preparation and client presentations. Support business development initiatives and strategic growth opportunities. Provide technical expertise during project pursuits and proposal evaluations. Education & Experience Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline. Professional Engineer (PE) License required. A Structural Engineer (SE) license is preferred. Project expertise spanning Industrial Manufacturing, Aerospace, Defense, Pharma / Life Sciences, &/or Food / Beverage required 10-15+ years of structural engineering experience, coupled with 2+ years of p roven experience leading engineering teams and managing complex projects ($40M+) Strong understanding of structural design, engineering standards, and construction practice Required Technical Knowledge / Codes & Standards American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) American Concrete Institute (ACI 318) International Building Code (IBC) ASCE 7 Factory Mutual (FM) Software Proficiency Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) Bluebeam Procore Structural analysis and design software Preferred Skills Excellent leadership and team management abilities. Strong communication and client-facing skills. Experience mentoring engineers and developing technical talent. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Travel Requirements Up to 25% travel may be required. Work Environment Primarily office-based environment. Regular use of computers and engineering software applications. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally. Ability to climb stairs when necessary. Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Compensation depends on experience but is typically $180-200K plus bonus; however, we may have a little flexibility for the right candidate.
