General Engineer

Adelphi is seeking General Engineers to provide services at a facility in Long Beach, California. The ideal candidates will be responsible for overseeing and managing various engineering projects, from planning and design to execution. This role involves applying broad engineering knowledge to solve complex problems related to healthcare facilities and ensuring compliance with all safety and building regulations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering. Preferred certification as a Professional Engineer. Minimum 7 years General Engineer experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access& Outlook). Microsoft Project and Revit are beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities:

Determine requirements, conduct reconnaissance, and prepare designs, specifications, and estimates for various projects. Provide guidance and advice to peers and subordinates, ensuring that project plans, specifications, and analyses are in line with engineering standards. Prepare detailed cost estimates, monitor the progress of construction, and resolve unforeseen issues during construction. Develop in-house designs, provide detailed construction documents, and ensure adherence to VA design and construction standards. Monitor and enforce safety protocols, including compliance with OSHA, hazardous materials handling, and emergency preparedness. Address customer needs and support VA missions by communicating respectfully and resolving conflicts. Implement infection control practices and follow universal precautions for disease prevention. Protect sensitive data in compliance with privacy laws and ensure secure access to electronic files.
