With expertise in HCAI (OSHPD) and non-HCAI environments, we support clients through every phase of a project — from planning and feasibility through construction and occupancy. Our services include Construction Management, CM-at-Risk, and Integrated Design-Build delivery, with a strong focus on operational continuity, compliance, transparency, and disciplined execution within active healthcare environments. Role Description NAMA Construction is seeking a full-time, on-site Construction Project Engineer (Healthcare) based in Los Angeles, CA. This role is ideal for a candidate with approximately 3+ years of construction experience who is looking to grow within healthcare construction and take an active role supporting CM-at-Risk and Design-Build healthcare projects. The Project Engineer will assist in managing day-to-day project operations including trade partner coordination, buyout support, contract administration, RFIs, submittals, procurement tracking, scheduling coordination, and document control. The role will work closely with ownership, consultants, field teams, and clients to help successfully deliver healthcare construction projects in active environments. This position requires a highly organized and proactive individual who can support both preconstruction and construction activities while maintaining strong communication and accountability throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities Support CM-at-Risk and Design-Build healthcare projects from preconstruction through closeout Assist with trade partner buyout, bid leveling, and procurement coordination Manage RFIs, submittals, ASIs, change orders, and project documentation Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, inspectors, and trade partners Track project progress, long lead items, and construction schedules Assist with quality control and field coordination activities Help maintain compliance with healthcare construction standards, HCAI requirements, ICRA protocols, and jobsite safety requirements Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and follow-up logs Support closeout activities including punch lists, turnover documentation, and final deliverables. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in construction project engineering, project coordination, or related field experience Experience supporting commercial, institutional, or healthcare construction projects preferred Understanding of construction processes including RFIs, submittals, procurement, and contract administration Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment and manage multiple priorities Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar construction software is preferred Experience with HCAI (OSHPD) healthcare projects is highly preferred Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
