Job Description

Overview:
Our client, a well‑established Civil Engineering consultancy in the Los Angeles area, is seeking a Project Engineer to support a growing portfolio of private, commercial, institutional, and residential land development projects. The firm emphasizes technical excellence, mentorship, and providing meaningful professional growth opportunities. This position functions as a Junior Civil Engineer role, reporting directly to Senior Engineers and Project Managers. The Project Engineer will support grading, utility design, hydrology and hydraulic analysis, stormwater quality design, and permitting efforts while gaining hands‑on experience on a wide range of site development projects. Ideal for early‑career civil engineers looking to deepen their technical skill set and grow within a collaborative, fast‑moving team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support senior engineers in preparing civil design plans for land development projects, including grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout.

Assist with hydrology and hydraulic studies, stormwater treatment design, and related engineering analyses.

Produce and update engineering drawings, calculations, technical reports, and supporting documents required for permitting.

Coordinate with internal project teams, consultants, and local agencies; support due diligence tasks and entitlement/permitting submittals.

Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D for plan production, modeling, and design detailing.

Participate in site visits, field observations, and construction‑related reviews as needed.

Support QA/QC, project documentation, and preparation of proposals, cost estimates, and project deliverables.
Compensation & Benefits:

Key Qualifications:
1-3 years of civil engineering experience in land development, site development, or related areasBachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringEIT or PE Licensed PreferredExperience with grading, utility design, hydrology/hydraulics, stormwater quality, and civil plan productionFamiliarity with permitting and submittal processes in Los Angeles or Southern California jurisdictionsProficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3DAbility to prepare civil plans, perform engineering calculations, and support technical documentationStrong communication, organization, and time‑management skillsSelf‑motivated with a strong sense of urgency to meet project deadlines and client needs
