  • Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Engineer / Estimating Assistant to join our construction team.
In this role, you will support bidding, quantity take-off, cost estimation, project coordination efforts to ensure successful project execution. You will work closely with project managers, estimators, and field teams to deliver accurate estimates, manage project schedules, and facilitate smooth communication across all stakeholders. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in construction management while contributing to impactful projects from inception through completion. Duties Assist in preparing detailed construction estimates using industry-standard software such as AGTEK ( a must!), ClearStory, ProCore, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and Primavera P6. Support the development of project schedules and timelines utilizing Primavera P6 or similar project management tools. Collaborate with the estimating team to review plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure accuracy and completeness. Coordinate with field teams to gather on-site data and verify construction site conditions for accurate estimating and scheduling. Help manage project documentation including contracts, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and submittals using construction management software. Contribute to project meetings by preparing reports, progress updates, and scheduling adjustments to keep projects on track. Support project management activities by tracking time management metrics, budget adherence, and resource allocation. Requirements Proven experience with construction estimating processes and familiarity with estimating software such as AGTEK (proficiency preferred), HeavyBid or similar tools. Strong knowledge of construction management software including ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and other relevant platforms. Experience with project scheduling techniques and tools like Primavera P6 or equivalent. Understanding of heavy civil or commercial construction projects and site operations. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Effective communication skills for coordinating between teams, clients, contractors, and suppliers. Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, contracts, and technical documents accurately. Prior experience working on construction sites is a plus; familiarity with safety protocols is desirable. Strong time management skills coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
