to employ your engineering skills while bringing value to the community we serve! The Public Works Department has an opportunity for an Associate Civil Engineer. The Associate Civil Engineer provides construction project management of a wide range of municipal construction projects, including roadway improvements, public buildings, parks, and other essential community infrastructure. Working as part of a project team, you will schedule, track budgets, oversee contractors and consultants, perform on-site inspections, and provide contract and project management to support timely, cost-effective, and compliant project delivery. The Associate Civil Engineer may prepare plans, specifications, and estimates for various capital projects and will perform review of plans, specifications, and estimates for constructability and adherence to local, state, and federal regulations. The role requires a solid foundation in construction management practices, a well-rounded blend of technical knowledge, leadership, strong communication, and problem-solving skills. On a day-to-day basis, the Associate Civil Engineer plays a vital role in technical and field support for the City's capital engineering projects under the direct supervision of the assigned division's manager.Special Requirements:
Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California with good standing is required.
