: Project Engineer About the position Osborne Construction is seeking a full-time Project Engineer to join our construction company. This role supports the successful planning and execution of high-end residential projects, including renovations, new construction, and select preconstruction efforts. The Project Engineer works closely with the Project Manager, field team, subcontractors, design professionals, and clients to help maintain project clarity, organization, schedule momentum, and cost control. This position requires the ability to manage multiple moving parts at once, communicate clearly and proactively, and contribute to a high standard of project execution and client service. Responsibilities Collaborate with the Project Manager, site team, clients, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors to support clear communication, coordination, and quality execution throughout all phases of a project. Assist in the planning, implementation, and tracking of residential construction projects, including preconstruction, estimating support, procurement, active construction, and closeout. Support subcontractor and vendor buyout throughout the project by preparing bid packages and scope narratives, reviewing drawings for scope coordination, soliciting and leveling proposals, coordinating scope clarification with subcontractors and the field team, issuing RFIs as needed to resolve gaps or clarify design intent, arranging site walks when required, and assisting with takeoffs for smaller work packages. Assist with the review and interpretation of drawing sets across all disciplines, and generate condensed shop and construction drawings that distill architectural design intent into clear, site-specific details for coordination and field execution, as required in Revit or AutoCAD. Prepare agendas for project meetings, document meeting notes, track action items, and follow through on outstanding decisions, RFIs, scope questions, and change-related items. Draft weekly client update materials, including progress summaries, action items, schedule updates, and photo/document links, for Project Manager review. Assist with project budgeting and cost tracking, including coding and reconciling expenses, tracking allowances, supporting change order pricing, and maintaining accurate cost information. Review drawings and specifications to support scope development, document coordination, procurement planning, and field execution. Manage and maintain project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, contracts, permits, meeting notes, and digital filing systems. Coordinate scheduling needs across subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, and internal labor resources to help maintain project flow and meet milestones. Work closely with the Superintendent and field team to support day-to-day site coordination, monitor quality expectations, and help uphold site safety, cleanliness, and organization. Collect and maintain required subcontractor documentation including certificates of insurance, invoices, and lien waivers. Assist with project closeout, including punch list tracking, warranty and Homeowner's Manual, permit sign-offs, and final accounting support. Bring concerns, coordination issues, and proposed solutions to the project team in a timely and proactive manner. Perform work in a detailed, organized, and professional manner that supports project schedules, budgets, and client expectations. Qualifications 2-5 years of experience, with at least 1-2 years in a Project Manager or Project Engineer role. Experience in custom residential construction is preferred; high-performance residential experience is a plus. Ability to read, interpret, and mark up construction drawings and specifications and synthesize into shop drawings for subs, vendors and in-house labor team. Basic estimating and quantity takeoff skills. Working knowledge of construction sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and building permitting/inspection processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify issues and help move solutions forward. Ability to work collaboratively with clients, consultants, field staff, and internal team members. Proficiency in Google Workspace and Bluebeam required; experience with project management and cost tracking tools preferred. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
