With a strong focus on quality workmanship and engineering excellence, the company specializes in delivering complex HVAC, architectural sheet metal, pipe fitting, and temperature control projects, emphasizing efficiency and technical expertise. Job Overview We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Interns and Project Engineers to join our growing Commercial HVAC & Plumbing team in Richmond, California. These positions are ideal for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in commercial construction project management, mechanical systems, and field coordination. The Project Engineer will support Project Managers and Superintendents in helping establish the foundation for successful commercial HVAC and plumbing projects from preconstruction through project execution. Responsibilities Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents Assist with preparation and tracking of submittals, RFIs, and closeout documents Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and general contractors Support procurement and material tracking activities Assist with project scheduling and coordination meetings Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with light estimating and budgeting tasks Help maintain project documentation, logs, and correspondence Monitor project progress and support field operations as needed Participate in site visits and job walks to gain field exposure Assist in identifying and resolving coordination issues between trades Support project teams in maintaining quality, safety, and schedule objectives Learn commercial HVAC and plumbing systems, construction methods, and industry standards Qualifications Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field Strong interest in commercial HVAC, plumbing, and construction project management Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong organizational and communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, or estimating software is a plus Self-motivated with willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment Ability to work collaboratively with office and field personnel What You'll Gain Exposure to large-scale commercial mechanical construction projects Hands-on experience with project management processes Mentorship from experienced HVAC and plumbing professionals Opportunity to develop estimating, coordination, and construction management skills Foundation for long-term growth in the mechanical construction industry Benefits & Growth Opportunities Opportunities for advancement and long-term career growth Exposure to high-profile commercial, healthcare, and institutional projects Collaborative team environment focused on professional development Real-world experience working alongside industry leaders in HVAC and plumbing construction
