Construction Project Engineer - Commercial Construction Job Description Position Title Project Engineer Position Summary The Project Engineer supports the Project Manager and field operations team in the coordination and administration of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role assists with RFIs, submittals, scheduling, documentation, subcontractor coordination, and project tracking to help ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Key Responsibilities Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project operations Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and project documentation Maintain project logs including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and punch lists Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and clients Support procurement and material tracking activities Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and progress reports Help monitor project schedules and assist with schedule updates Review construction drawings and specifications for accuracy and coordination Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and change order management Support project closeout activities including warranties, as-builts, and O&M manuals Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and contract requirements Utilize construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred 1-5 years of commercial construction experience preferred Internship experience in construction management is a plus Knowledge of construction processes, scheduling, and project coordination Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction software platforms Preferred Experience Ground-up commercial construction Tenant Improvement (TI) projects Healthcare and medical facilities Industrial and warehouse projects Multifamily and mixed-use developments Education and municipal projects Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills Time management and organizational abilities Desire to grow into Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager roles Benefits Competitive salary with bonus opportunities Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan with company match Paid vacation, sick leave, and company holidays Vehicle allowance or mileage reimbursement Company laptop and phone allowance Life and disability insurance Professional development and training programs Tuition reimbursement or continuing education assistance Career advancement opportunities Employee assistance program (EAP) Team outings and company events
