Job Description

LVI Associates is partnering with a growing multidisciplinary design firm that is expanding its presence in Sacramento. Our client is seeking a Structural Engineering Lead with a PE license and approximately 6 to 14 years of experience to support the continued development of the California office. This is a full-time leadership role for an engineer who enjoys mentoring junior staff, collaborating closely with senior leadership, and contributing to long-term strategic planning.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical design abilities, is comfortable coordinating with multiple disciplines, and can manage both their own workload and the output of a small engineering team. Candidates who have OSHPD or HCAI background, existing relationships in the Sacramento market, or a demonstrated ability to engage with the local design and construction community will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead structural project delivery from early planning through construction documentation and construction support
  • Coordinate directly with architects, interior designers, civil engineers, landscape architects, and MEP consultants
  • Perform gravity and lateral design calculations across a variety of project types
  • Organize, guide, and develop a team of entry-level engineers
  • Work with structural department leadership in other offices to support broader department growth initiativesQualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 6 to 10 years of relevant structural engineering experience
  • Active Professional Engineer license
  • Structural Engineer license preferred
  • Familiarity with
ASCE 7, ASCE
41, ACI, AISC and related codes
  • Ability to assemble complete construction document packages for small to mid-sized projects
  • Capable of working independently through all project phases
  • Experience with steel design and interest in manufacturing or semiconductor-related work is a plus
  • Experience preparing and maintaining project specifications
  • Prior team management experience is beneficial
