This position is field focused and works directly alongside the Superintendent to manage all project administration, communication, coordination, and documentation activities onsite. The Traveling Field Project Engineer serves as the operational support lead for the project and is responsible for allowing the Superintendent to remain focused on field execution, quality, safety, subcontractor management, and schedule performance. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to build a long term career in construction management with growth opportunities directly into Project Management and Superintendent roles. This role provides direct exposure to fast paced field operations, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, problem solving, client communication, and real world construction management. Individuals in this role will work closely with experienced Superintendents, Project Managers, owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors while gaining hands on experience managing commercial construction projects from start to finish. We are looking for individuals who are motivated, accountable, organized, and take pride in ownership. Responsibilities Prepare and distribute daily reports. Maintain project photo documentation and progress tracking. Manage project email correspondence and phone communications. Coordinate site logistics. Assist with construction schedule updates and tracking. Prepare, submit, and track RFIs. Prepare, submit, and track submittals. Assist with pricing, tracking, and processing change orders. Maintain project document control logs and project files. Maintain project drawings and track plan revisions. Track long lead items and procurement schedules. Coordinate inspections, permits, and utility company activities. Coordinate temporary facilities including dumpsters, storage containers, restrooms, equipment rentals, and temporary labor. Coordinate material deliveries and procurement activities. Assist with purchase orders, invoice tracking, and project cost documentation. Attend project meetings and distribute meeting minutes. Maintain subcontractor lists, project logs, punch lists, and closeout documentation. Request and assemble closeout documents, warranties, as builts, and turnover documentation from subcontractors. Communicate daily project status updates to Project Managers and company leadership. Support onsite problem solving and coordination between owners, subcontractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, and vendors. Assist with project turnover and warranty activities. Maintain organized project records throughout the duration of the project. Support all company safety policies and jobsite safety efforts. Qualifications Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast paced construction environment. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Ability to travel. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and cloud based construction software. Ability to professionally communicate with clients, subcontractors, inspectors, vendors, and internal teams. Construction management, engineering, architecture, military leadership, or related experience preferred. Ability to read construction drawings is preferred but not required. Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, or similar software is a plus. Self motivated with strong attention to detail and follow through. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Compensation and Benefits Hourly position with overtime opportunities. Competitive pay based on experience.
