We've delivered 100+ ADUs with a 5-star reputation, helping homeowners unlock the full potential of their property — from feasibility through final walkthrough. Our team brings 150+ combined years of new-home construction experience to every project. The Role We're hiring a Project Engineer to own ADU construction projects from approved plans through client move-in. You'll be the homeowner's main point of contact, the schedule's keeper, and the budget's protector. If you love building, hate surprises, and take pride in delivering a 5-star experience, you'll thrive here. What You'll Do Own each project from City Approved Plans through Final Punch List and homeowner walkthrough. Lead pre-construction meetings and serve as the homeowner's first call throughout construction. Deliver weekly client updates every Friday via Buildertrend — completed work, what's next, and updated timeline. Process change orders within 24 hours with photos, scope, schedule impact, and pricing; secure client approval before any work begins. Maintain the master construction schedule daily and coordinate trades, inspections, and milestones. Pull permits within 5 business days of City approval and break ground within 2 weeks. Deliver every project in 6-10 weeks (12-week maximum) from groundbreaking to final inspection. Schedule and attend City inspections — target 90%+ pass rate without corrections. Review and approve weekly invoices, pay applications, and subcontractor billings. Track accounts receivable weekly and provide clients advance notice of upcoming billings. Keep all written communication, RFIs, daily logs, and project files current in Buildertrend. Identify cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities both onsite and in-office. Schedule open houses 30+ days in advance and coordinate staging and professional photography. What You Bring 3+ years of construction project engineering experience (residential strongly preferred; ADU experience a big plus). Ability to read blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications. Strong financial and analytical skills; comfortable owning a project budget. Proficiency with Buildertrend (or similar PM software) and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace. Working knowledge of California building codes, permit processes, and inspection requirements (ADU law preferred). Proactive communicator with a calm, solution-oriented presence under pressure. Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to juggle multiple active projects. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel daily across the Inland Empire and LA County. Spanish proficiency is a strong plus. Nice to Have Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business. OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, SWPPP, or LEED credentials. Procore experience. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary, commensurate with experience. Performance bonus tied to on-time delivery, on-budget completion, and client satisfaction. Monday-Friday schedule with flexibility for occasional site emergencies. Upland, CA office plus daily travel to active job sites. How to Apply Apply through Indeed with your resume.
