SUMMARY :
The Engineer performs general maintenance work to ensure the total comfort, safety, and satisfaction of hotel guests and staff; maintains all equipment, buildings, and property in proper condition.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains property including but not limited to guest rooms, public areas, equipment preventive maintenance program; ensures all maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely, cost-effective manner and according to all specifications Maintains the hotel's physical operations including but not limited to refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, laundry machines, swimming pools, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, plumbing, water treatment, and electric systems Interfaces with appropriate hotel staff/managers to receive information regarding maintenance needs; ensures timely response to requests Ensures all fire and safety inspections are completed and any discrepancies corrected; ensures property is in compliance with all safety and sanitation policies, procedures, and regulations Maintains ventilation/air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other generally accepted maintenance skills Performs other related duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of ventilation/air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other generally accepted maintenance skills Knowledge of city and state building codes, OSHA requirements, and ADA laws Commitment to excellence and high standards Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage priorities and workflow Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines Strong interpersonal skills Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions Creative, flexible, and innovative team player Bilingual skills a plus Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions Ability to perform the physical labor necessary
E DUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Requires minimum of 1 year of experience in general maintenance or related field
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Continually required to stand, walk, and utilize hand and finger dexterity Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl Frequently utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard Frequently required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds Frequently exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat or cold Frequently work near moving mechanical parts Occasionally work in high, precarious places Frequently work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals Frequently exposure to outside weather conditions Occasionally exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials Frequent exposure to loud noise
