At BF Construction Inc. we are looking for a Project Engineer who owns the details — submittals, RFIs, schedules, scopes — and keeps the project moving before anyone has to ask. Someone who takes pride in staying ahead, not catching up. This role is built for someone who wants to work closely with the field and grow into in-house project management . You'll be the bridge between boots-on-the-ground execution and office-side coordination — making sure nothing slips and everything moves forward. If you're highly organized, detail-driven, and communicate well across teams, this is your seat. What You'll Do Own and maintain the submittal and RFI logs from preconstruction through closeout Review drawings and specifications to identify conflicts, gaps, and coordination issues early Assist with project scheduling — track milestones, monitor progress, and ensure work stays on time and meets quality standards Proactively flag risks and delays before they impact the field Support subcontractor scope development, bid leveling, and procurement tracking Coordinate shop drawings, design documents, and engineer responses across all parties Manage change orders — log, track, and ensure full accountability Prepare and distribute weekly reports, meeting minutes, and project updates Conduct regular site visits to verify work in place aligns with approved documents and quality expectations Act as a key link between field and management , ensuring clear, consistent communication in both directions Support the PM in compiling and delivering complete, organized closeout packages Maintain project files that are accurate, current, and reliable for the entire team What We're Looking For in This Role A proactive builder's mindset — you don't wait for direction, you anticipate needs and keep the project moving Someone who thrives in active construction environments , not behind a desk disconnected from the jobsite Strong ability to bridge field and office , communicating clearly with both crews and management A professional who can step in and contribute immediately with real project experience Detail-oriented with a follow-through mentality — nothing gets dropped, nothing stalls What You Bring 2-5 years of Project Engineer or construction management experience on commercial projects Ability to read and interpret full construction documents (drawings, specifications, and details) Hands-on experience managing submittals, RFIs, schedules, and change orders on active jobs Strong communication skills with subs, architects, engineers, and owners Proficiency in Bluebeam Experience with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD is a strong plus Experience with Procore or similar construction management platforms preferred Why This Role You won't be sitting on the sidelines.
