Do you enjoy turning equations into certifiable hardware? Can you move from a hand calc to a detailed FEA model and back again with ease? Are you excited by systems that span advanced payloads, electronic assemblies, ground and air vehicles, and orbital platforms? What you'll tackle Own stress analysis for metallic and composite structures from concept to production. Plan and execute static and dynamic evaluations to validate strength, stiffness, and durability. Develop finite element models in tools like MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, or ANSYS; verify with classical analysis. Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and systems teams to drive model-based, parametric designs. Write traceable substantiation reports for internal and external review. What you need to succeed Solid grounding in engineering principles and standard practices. Basic proficiency with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools. Experience working on multi-disciplinary engineering teams. Exposure to static and/or dynamic analysis methods. What sets you apart Hands-on FEA experience (Patran/Nastran, FEMAP, ANSYS). Classical stress and "back-of-the-envelope" hand calculation skills.
Fluency in mechanical design concepts:
parametric modeling, model-based definition, hardware selection, and manufacturing/production processes. Ability to produce rigorous substantiation documentation. Background in the Aerospace and Defense sectors; weld analysis familiarity is a plus. Education Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, or a closely related field, typically with 2+ years of relevant experience. Language English — read, write, speak.
