- 76K Reports to Project Manager Position Type Full-Time Purpose of the Role A Project Engineer for Saunders Construction, Inc.
Functions / Duties
Develops submittal requirement log/listing. Solicits, logs and reviews submittals for accuracy and compliance with Architect specifications Directs subcontractors to make revisions/corrections to submittals Regularly walk jobsite to review quality/safety/cleanliness/conditions/progress of project/jobsite. Recommend solutions to Project Manager, Superintendent or Safety Manager Generate RFIs applicable to duties. Ensures proper logging of RFls Verify validity of Superintendent/Subcontractor RFIs prior to issuing to architect Administer weekly schedule, direct subcontractors to meet schedules Create supplemental schedules for material deliveries, subcontractors, etc. and directs subcontractors to meet delivery dates, task schedules Take weekly jobsite photographs to document activities and conditions of jobsite Review and verify job cost status reports and creates daily reports Gather, review and approve information for pricing of Subcontractor Change Orders. Verbal agreements/conversations with subcontractors, owners, architects, etc. Correspond with subcontractors relative to administrative duties Knowledge / Skills / Abilities / Qualifications / Experience Bachelor's degree in related field from four-year college or university preferred Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Physical Demands The following are some of the physical demands commonly associated with this position: Spends approximately 70% of the time sitting, and 30% of the time either standing or walking while on the job. Occasionally- lifts up to 50 lbs, when moving project binders, office supplies or files, and may stoop, kneel, crouch, and balance while performing these same functions.
