This role is essential to supporting our project management teams across complex industrial related construction projects. As a Project Engineer at ICM, you'll help keep projects moving forward coordinating engineering support, managing field documentation, ensuring quality, and helping maintain our "on time and on budget" track record. Impact:
Support projects that power manufacturing, industrial facilities, aerospace, transportation, and mission critical infrastructure. What You'll Do Support the project managers in planning, coordinating, and executing industrial construction projects. Assist with managing field engineering tasks, layout, design clarifications, and technical problem solving. Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, design changes, and other engineering documentation. Support subcontractor and vendor coordination, ensuring technical accuracy and timely delivery of materials and equipment. Assist in schedule development, updates, and progress reporting to ensure project milestones are met. Maintain accurate document control (drawings, specifications, change orders, logs). Help review project plans for constructability, long lead items, and phasing. Provide on-site support to project teams, resolving questions, coordinating work sequences, and ensuring adherence to ICM's safety and quality standards. Participate in project closeout activities including as builts, O&M manuals, and punch list coordination.
What You'll Bring Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred. 1-4 years of experience in construction, industrial, mechanical, or field engineering roles preferred. Experience supporting heavy industrial or mechanical trades (ironwork, millwright, pipefitting, equipment installation) is a plus.
Technical Aptitude:
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Teams, Outlook). Experience with construction management software platforms (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, or similar). Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and industrial equipment installation principles. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and ensure field execution aligns with design intent.
Attributes:
Detail oriented and organized, with strong follow-through. Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, interruption driven environment without losing focus. Strong communicator—able to interface with field crews, project managers, engineers, vendors, and clients. Problem solver with a proactive mindset and willingness to learn.
