DRY DOCK - PROJECT ENGINEER - OAHU

is joint venture between contractors, Dragados, Hawaiian Dredging Construction, Co., and Orion Government Services. This collaboration aims to develop a new dry dock for the Governments Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard (PHNSY) and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (IMF) Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, working on important marine infrastructure projects with NAVPAC Pacific.
JOB OVERVIEW
The role of Project Engineer will be responsible for collaborating with the project manager and project team with project documentation and control, job cost accounting, scheduling, and construction supervision efforts. To be successful, the candidate should be comfortable taking on a variety of tasks that require different skills and appropriately prioritize their completion.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible in detailing using software for field use to include shop drawings for rebar, forming, scaffolds, traffic control, etc.
Responsible for reviewing Subcontractors and vendors shop drawings for conformance to Contract drawings and Specs.
Responsible for updating RFIs electronically into Drawings and Specs of all design packages.
Assist Project Engineer for coordinating drawings of all disciplines to identify conflicts or clashes. May need to use BIM 360 or Revit.
Maintain electronic as-built drawings and information for submission to DOR.
Assist QC Manager in processing RFIs, Submittals, Contractor Daily Reports, QC Reports, Project Photos, QC Meeting Agendas and Meeting Minutes, Environmental Meeting Agendas and Minutes.
Perform any function or miscellaneous Project Engineering work as needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree or completion of Construction Management Certificate Program or equivalent.
Minimum 6 years practical construction experience.
Basic estimating and scheduling skills.
Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Blue Beam and Adobe is helpful.
Able to plan and organize tasks, have effective written and verbal communication skills and function under pressure or time limitations.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to be approved for a base pass on JBPHH.
Project schedule- 6 days a week (Monday-Saturday), may require night shifts.
