Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Civil Engineer Project Manager to lead and oversee complex infrastructure projects from inception to completion. The Professional Engineer (PE) will provide technical and project management support for the Client's Local Agency Program (LAP) and transportation improvement projects. The successful candidate will assist with project development, design review, schedule evaluation, cost estimate review, and coordination with Local Agencies and project stakeholders. The position requires familiarity with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) standards, manuals, specifications, procedures, and project delivery requirements. The ideal candidate will possess an active Professional Engineer (PE) license, a minimum of two (2) years of relevant engineering experience, and demonstrated experience supporting transportation or infrastructure projects in accordance with FDOT requirements. Minimum Qualifications Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida or ability to obtain Florida licensure through reciprocity. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited institution. Minimum of two (2) years of professional engineering experience. Familiarity with FDOT standards, design criteria, manuals, specifications, and project development processes. Experience supporting transportation, roadway, bridge, municipal, or infrastructure projects. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and engineering software applications. Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and deadlines. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTechnical Design and Project Review The ideal candidate will have technical design experience, including but not limited to: Performing engineering plan reviews to ensure compliance with FDOT standards, manuals, specifications, and applicable design criteria. Conducting scope reviews to verify project objectives, deliverables, and project requirements are clearly defined and appropriately developed. Applying knowledge of FDOT design criteria, standard plans, specifications, and project development requirements during technical reviews. Reviewing bid packages, contract documents, plans, specifications, and supporting engineering documentation. Reviewing project cost estimates, including design, Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI), and Construction Support Team (CST) estimates for completeness and reasonableness. Identifying technical deficiencies, risks, constructability concerns, and opportunities for improvement during project development and design review. Providing technical recommendations and guidance to Local Agencies and project teams throughout project delivery. Project Management and Coordination The ideal candidate will have project management experience, including but not limited to: Reviewing project schedules and identifying potential fatal flaws, conflicts, risks, and delays that may impact project delivery. Leading project meetings with Local Agencies and facilitating discussions regarding project scope, schedule, budget, and delivery requirements. Coordinating with FDOT personnel, Local Agencies, consultants, contractors, utility owners, and other stakeholders to support successful project implementation. Monitoring project progress and tracking action items, milestones, schedules, and deliverables. Assisting with project reporting, documentation, and compliance activities. Supporting Local Agencies throughout the project development and delivery process, including adherence to

requirements and procedures. Demonstrating effective time management and organizational skills while managing multiple projects and competing priorities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working knowledge of FDOT manuals, standards, specifications, procedures, and project delivery processes. Familiarity with FDOT Project Development and Environment (PD&E), design, permitting, and construction phases. Understanding of Local Agency Program (LAP) requirements and federally funded transportation projects. Ability to review engineering plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates for compliance and quality. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder coordination abilities. Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with Local Agencies, FDOT staff, consultants, and project stakeholders. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
Pay:
$115,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
