Job Summary To Apply for this Job Click Here Senior Civil Structural PE Division Leader Structural Engineering Practice Leader - South Florida (Confidential Search) A well-established engineering firm is seeking a Structural Engineering Practice Leader to lead and grow its South Florida structural group. This role blends technical expertise, client development, and team leadership, with responsibility for delivering structural engineering services across a diverse range of building projects.
Responsibilities:
Lead and grow the structural engineering practice in South Florida Manage client relationships and support business development efforts Oversee and mentor engineering staff while maintaining hands-on project involvement Perform and oversee structural design and analysis for new construction, design-build, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects Lead structural engineering efforts across commercial, institutional, educational, public-sector, and industrial markets Design and analyze low- and mid-rise building structures using steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and cold-formed steel systems Prepare, review, and oversee structural calculations, drawings, and engineering reports Develop and review finite element models for complex structural systems Conduct site visits, structural investigations, threshold inspections, and condition assessments Prepare corresponding technical reports and field documentation Maintain and grow existing client relationships and base business accounts Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery Perform additional duties as needed to support office and project goals
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or closely related discipline with structural emphasis) 8+ years of structural engineering experience Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Florida Strong knowledge of the South Florida market Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (required) Experience with structural analysis software such as RAM Structural System/RAM Elements, STAAD, ENERCALC, or Mathcad (preferred) Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and building systems Experience with structural inspections, assessments, and renovation projects Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Close attention to detail and accuracy in deliverables Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications:
Existing client relationships or base business accounts in South Florida Prior leadership experience within a structural engineering practice or team Experience with complex structural systems and nonlinear analysis concepts Compensation Base salary range: $140,000 - $200,000 , commensurate with experience
