Associate Consultant, Structural Engineer Location:

Duties:
Develop and qualify, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) and oversee welder performance qualification (WPQ). Provide technical support for welding activities including engineering consulting for in-house, off-site and shop fabrication projects. Conduct failure analysis and metallurgical investigations on non-conforming or failed components. Evaluate material selection for compatibility with service conditions. Perform coatings and linings inspections on steel structures, piping systems, tanks, and pressure vessels. Review coating procedures and ensure compliance with client and industry specifications. Support the development of corrosion mitigation strategies. Support quality control and assurance processes for fabrication and construction projects. Perform and/or witness nondestructive examinations (NDE) such as Visual Testing(VT), Dye Penetrant Testing(PT), Magnetic Particle Testing(MT), Ultrasonic Testing(UT), and Coatings Testing. Daily interface with clients, vendors, and subcontractors while performing QA/QC services. Standard company benefits included.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Materials Engineering, Welding Engineering, or related field plus 1 year experience in Welding Engineering or related (will accept Graduate Research Associate experience).
Experience must include:
Optimize ultrasonic welding parameters to achieve reliable bonding of polymer materials while maintaining structural and functional properties. Identify and resolve welding challenges through root cause analysis and process adjustments. Conduct mechanical testing methods such as tensile and bending to evaluate weld strength and durability, and interpret results for compliance with performance standards. Apply knowledge of welding metallurgy, including heat-affected zone transformations, solidification behavior, and phase stability, in the design and evaluation of welding processes.
