We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Site Civil Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and project delivery, along with experience working with local municipalities, renewable energy developers, utility providers and regulatory agencies. In this role, you will demonstrate technical excellence while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to plan, design, and execute civil and utility infrastructure projects for a diverse range of clients.. Projects will include all phases of site development and power-related infrastructure, including planning, grading, stormwater management, utility design, and permitting for renewable energy and utility projects such as wind farms, solar facilities, substations, and transmission corridors, as well as industrial developments. A Day in the Life of a
Senior Project Civil Engineer:
Design, develop, and manage civil engineering projects from concept through construction, including renewable energy and utility infrastructure projects. Coordinate with local municipalities, regulatory agencies, and utility providers to ensure compliance with zoning, permitting, and environmental regulations. Perform site evaluations, due diligence, and feasibility assessments for land development and energy infrastructure projects, including wind, solar, and transmission sites. Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, drainage reports, and permit submittals. Develop grading, drainage, access roads, and utility layouts for large-scale developments and power generation facilities. Collaborate with project managers to define scope, schedules, and budgets for site and utility development projects. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful execution. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff. Deliver designs that meet safety standards, environmental requirements, and client expectations. Perform quality control reviews for contract deliverables. Coordinate with surveyors, environmental scientists, structural engineers, and electrical engineers to support integrated delivery of power and site projects.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with at least 10 years of relevant experience in site civil engineering. Experience with site development and/or utility infrastructure projects, including exposure to renewable energy (wind, solar) or transmission projects preferred. Familiarity with permitting processes for both traditional development and energy/utility projects. Proven project and/or task management experience. Strong knowledge of site civil engineering principles, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility design. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in relevant engineering tools and software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D (preferred) or similar site design software. The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $140,000 per year. Salary offered is based on years of relevant experience.
