In this role, you will investigate structural failures, assess damage, and analyze building performance to determine root causes of structural issues. Your expertise will support legal proceedings, insurance claims, and safety evaluations by providing comprehensive forensic analysis. Responsibilities Conduct thorough investigations of structural failures, including site inspections and data collection. Utilize advanced engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and Civil 3D for detailed drafting and modeling of structures. Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and other system design assessments to evaluate structural integrity under various conditions. Prepare detailed technical reports, documenting findings, methodologies, and conclusions with clarity for legal or client review. Collaborate with project teams to develop repair strategies or mitigation plans based on forensic findings. Manage project schedules effectively to ensure timely completion of investigations and reporting deliverables. Use tools like Bluebeam and GIS for documentation review, mapping, and data analysis in complex forensic cases. Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred. Proven experience in construction, civil engineering, or geotechnical engineering with a focus on forensic investigations. Familiarity with project management principles and project scheduling tools. Hands-on experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and CAD drafting techniques. Strong knowledge of system design principles, structural analysis (including FEA), and construction practices. Proficiency in technical writing for detailed reports and documentation purposes. Experience in using Mathcad for calculations and analysis is advantageous. Knowledge of GIS applications for spatial data analysis related to forensic investigations.
