Must have 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, ideally with a focus on materials testing / geotechnical engineering. In this role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the quality and integrity of construction projects through rigorous materials testing, inspection, and analysis. Your expertise will help maintain high standards for construction safety, durability, and compliance with project specifications. Overview of Responsibilities Review contracts and technical specifications to ensure materials and workmanship meet contractual requirements. Prepare proposals and project estimates. Project management and coordination of field and laboratory testing. Perform site visits and field inspections when required. Conduct comprehensive laboratory testing of construction materials such as concrete, asphalt, soils, and other building components to verify compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Collaborate with contractors, project managers, field technicians, and laboratory personnel to resolve quality issues promptly and effectively. Quality review of daily field and laboratory reports. Finalize and submit reports according to client deadlines. Our Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment while demonstrating excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Candidates should have strong interpersonal abilities, a positive team-oriented attitude, and effective organization and time management skills. Prior laboratory experience performing materials testing procedures for concrete, soils, and related construction materials is required, along with a working knowledge of soil mechanics theory and laboratory testing techniques. Hands-on knowledge of construction processes including site inspections, concrete forming, and general construction practices is also expected. Experience with quality control testing and familiarity with FDOT specifications is considered a plus. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong data collection and analysis capabilities with exceptional attention to detail to support accurate reporting and informed decision-making. Knowledge of quality control procedures, quality inspection standards, and contracts related to materials testing and construction quality assurance is preferred. The ability to clearly communicate technical findings and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams is essential. Candidates must possess strong computer skills, including proficiency with CADD, Microsoft Office applications, and geotechnical software commonly used within our industry. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. Applicants must also be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check as a condition of employment.
