  • Full-time Overview Founded in 1989, Hamilton is a medium-size engineering and surveying consulting firm that specializes in the design and construction of residential and commercial land development projects.

Hamilton provides clients with high-quality site development design and permitting services, incorporating sustainable design principles. We optimize site potential, conserve natural resources, and remain budget-conscious, fostering long-standing client relationships in the land development industry.
Responsibilities include:
Assist with preparation of civil engineering design plans, calculations, specifications, and technical reports for land development and infrastructure projects. Support project engineers with site grading, drainage, utility, roadway, and stormwater design using industry software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D. Coordinate with permitting agencies, utility providers, surveyors, and other consultants throughout project development and review. Prepare permit applications and respond to agency review comments under the supervision of senior engineering staff. Perform engineering calculations related to stormwater management, utility sizing, earthwork quantities, and roadway geometry. Conduct site visits and field inspections to document existing conditions and observe construction progress. Assist with preparation of construction documents, bid packages, and as-built record drawings. Review plans and supporting documents for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and engineering standards. Support project scheduling, document management, and coordination between internal teams and clients. Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and clients regarding project status and technical issues. Maintain organized project files and assist with preparation of engineering exhibits, presentations, and project correspondence. Work collaboratively in a team environment while continuing professional development toward obtaining Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. 1-2 years of experience in civil/site design, land development, transportation, or utility infrastructure projects. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and engineering analysis software. Engineer Intern (EI) certification or ability to obtain within six months preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. .
