Tampa | Senior Bridge Engineer

Position Summary The Senior Bridge Engineer is responsible for leading the planning, analysis, design, evaluation, and rehabilitation of bridge and other transportation structures. This role serves as a technical expert and project leader, overseeing complex structural projects from concept through construction, while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Design Lead the structural analysis and design of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and ancillary structures in accordance with AASHTO, FHWA, state DOT, and local agency standards Prepare and review calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports Perform load ratings, structural evaluations, and condition assessments for new and existing bridges Provide technical review and quality control of engineering deliverables Project Management & Coordination Serve as Project Manager or Task Lead on bridge and structures projects Coordinate with roadway, geotechnical, hydraulic, construction, and inspection teams Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and client expectations Support proposal development, including scope definition and fee estimates Construction & Field Support Provide engineering support during construction, including shop drawing review and responses to RFIs Conduct field inspections and site visits as required Assist with construction sequencing and constructability reviews Mentorship & Collaboration Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers Promote engineering best practices and continuous improvement Collaborate with clients, agencies, contractors, and other consultants Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree preferred) Licensed Professional Engineer (PE); Structural Engineer (SE) license a plus 8-15+ years of experience in bridge and structural engineering Strong knowledge of
