Job Description
Lowe Engineers is seeking a full-time Stormwater Engineer (4-8 years' experience desired) to perform professional and technical civil engineering work in the design, construction and maintenance of public works facilities.
Responsibilities:
Supervises and inspects minor construction and maintenance work on roadways, storm drains, sidewalks, or other public works projects
Prepares designs for simple public works projects
Prepare exhibits and descriptions for easement and right-of-way agreements
Inspects construction materials to see that they conform to specifications Respond to citizen's questions and complaints concerning stormwater and erosion requests Uses computer applications or other automated systems such as computer assisted design programs (CAD), Geographical Information Systems (GIS), spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software in performing work assignments Review utility and right-of-way permits
Required Skills:
Knowledge and expertise in the design of Stormwater engineering projects
Principles and practices of engineering field and office procedures
Methods, materials, tools and equipment used in engineering construction
Read and interpret plans and specifications
Learn and interpret City ordinances and department policies pertaining to Public Works.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree
in Civil Engineering , Construction Engineering or closely related field and four to eight (4-8) years of work experience, pre-or-post degree, which involved construction, surveying, design, traffic engineering, inspection or estimating.
Engineer-in-training (EIT) certification required. Ability to obtain PE License within two years is preferred. Construction Management experience along with knowing the Atlanta area are a huge plus, therefore a local Atlanta resident is highly preferred.
