Job Summary As a Construction Project Engineer , you will be a vital link between the field and the office. You will support Project Managers and Estimators through the entire project lifecycle—from pre-bid activities and subcontractor procurement to project execution and closeout. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels at maintaining contract integrity, tracking project costs, and ensuring that safety and quality standards are never compromised.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Estimating & Procurement:
Perform pre-bid site visits and material take-offs. Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate competitive quotes.
Project Compliance:
Facilitate permit applications with local, state, and federal entities. Coordinate the preparation of essential submittals, including QC plans and safety plans.
Field Operations:
Monitor site cleanliness and safety. Inspect and document environmental protection measures, construction progress, and subcontractor performance.
Communication & Documentation:
Prepare and track RFIs (Requests for Information). Act as a liaison for project status updates to senior management.
Quality & Safety:
Serve as a point of contact for Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure project objectives and safety regulations are met.
Financial Tracking:
Assist in preparing project schedules, budgets, cost reports, and claims documentation.
Candidate Capabilities Critical Thinking:
Ability to identify complex problems and evaluate options to implement effective solutions.
Communication:
Exceptional listening skills and the ability to convey information clearly in written and spoken English.
Technical Literacy:
Strong comprehension of written, verbal, and graphic instructions (blueprints/schematics).
Decision Making:
A self-starter capable of monitoring progress and making informed decisions under pressure.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management . US Citizenship required.
Experience:
2-5 years of professional experience within the construction industry.
Federal Projects:
Proven experience working on Federal construction projects is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with Primavera P6 is a strong plus.
Certifications:
Construction Quality Control (CQC) certification is preferred.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
