Job Description

Bridge Design Engineer•Illinois-Based Opportunity A respected engineering consulting firm is looking for a driven Bridge Design Engineer to join its growing transportation team. This full-time role offers the chance to take ownership of impactful bridge design projects across Illinois, supporting senior staff while also stepping into more independent responsibilities for state and local agency work.

Key Responsibilities:

Contribute to the structural design efforts within the transportation and bridge engineering team. Develop designs for various bridge projects across the state of Illinois. Support senior engineers in crafting project proposals and outlining strategic approaches. Deliver civil engineering services to municipal, county, and state agencies. Prepare engineering drawings and specifications in compliance with Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) standards. Collaborate with managers, providing key input and making impactful decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Degree in Civil Engineering with a strong emphasis on structural design. Active Professional Engineer (PE) license. Minimum of 3 years of experience working on bridge and transportation infrastructure projects, especially for municipal or highway agencies. Ability or desire to work independently with minimal oversight Familiarity with Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Illinois Tollway standards and procedures. Skilled in MicroStation, OpenRoads, and other Bentley software tools commonly used in bridge design.

Minimum Requirements:
