Civil Engineer- Entry Level, 1-5 Years SPAAN Tech, Inc. - Chicago, IL SPAAN Tech, Inc. is an engineering and construction management firm. We provide and implement innovative, sustainable solutions in transportation, aviation, water, energy efficiency, and technology. SPAAN Tech employs the most experienced and highly accredited professional engineers, architects, and software technicians. Job Description We are seeking a Civil Engineer with 1-5 years experience with a background in civil design work related to transportation. A successful candidate has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, strong analytical and communication skills, enjoys working on multiple projects, and can work well in a team setting.
Responsibilities:
Assisting in the preparation or modification of plans, specifications, report construction schedules, permits, and project design Applying standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow operations through a series of related steps or processes Preparing design computations and quantity estimates Assisting in the development of probable construction cost estimates for projects Design and layout of roadway and highway plans and details. Reviewing construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program. Completion of the FE exam, or intention to take it within the next 6 months Strong computer skills required, including a working knowledge of MicroStation, Geopak, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong commitment to innovation, by creating new and better ways to solve clients' toughest challenges.
