Job Description

Job Title:
Project Engineer Job Description As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in translating and coordinating project documentation, assisting with project planning phases, and maintaining effective relationships with project stakeholders. You will also supervise projects, manage them during team member absences, and actively participate in strategic meetings to drive company and personal growth. Responsibilities Translate and coordinate project documents, drawings, specifications, contracts, and other relevant materials. Assist with pre-planning, construction, and post-construction tasks. Maintain cooperative relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, municipal authorities, and company personnel. Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative, flexibility, and resourcefulness while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Exhibit a strong commitment to safety and participate actively in safety meetings. Supervise projects and manage them as the main point of contact when necessary. Essential Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry or related fields as a Project Engineer. Bachelor's Degree in an AEC field, Associate's Degree in Construction, or equivalent work experience. Proficiency in project management, construction documentation, and construction supervision. Experience with Bluebeam and Procore. Willingness to travel outside of Illinois for projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project. Knowledge of AutoCad, Revit, and Navisworks is encouraged. Drone operation with FAA certification and flight management. Future certifications such as
LEED BD+C, OSHA 30
Hour, and ASHE are recommended. CPR/AED/BBP and First Aid certification, as well as eRAILSAFE, are recommended. Work Environment The office is located in Oak Brook, IL, housing approximately 72 employees. The role involves a 50% field environment and 50% office environment, primarily for Chicagoland projects. You may be required to drive short and long distances or travel to out-of-town project sites via automobile or airplane. The position demands physical capability to navigate project sites, including ladders, uneven terrain, and challenging weather conditions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oak Brook, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $41.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
