Job Description

The Project Engineer (PE) — Solar Division supports the project management team and helps drive execution on solar projects by maintaining strong project controls, documentation, and coordination. This role reviews and helps resolve construction-related issues and discrepancies with the architect/engineer, owner, subcontractors, and vendors, and manages key documentation including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes . The Solar PE will also develop working knowledge of bid packages, scopes of work, construction schedules, and site utilization programs , while supporting day-to-day coordination to keep solar projects moving safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Support the project management team with day-to-day project coordination and execution. Review, analyze, and help resolve construction-related issues and discrepancies with the architect/engineer, owner, subcontractors, and vendors. Manage and organize construction documentation including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes . Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and policies. Coordinate procurement of permits and inspections with local jurisdictions. Assist in development of bid packages, scopes of work, construction schedules, and site utilization programs. Drive and support project goals as a core member of a dedicated team. Support project closeout and punch list processes. Support field + PM teams with solar workflow coordination across civil, racking, mechanical, and electrical scopes (as applicable). Track and organize solar project logs (submittal log, RFI log, change log, delivery log, and closeout documentation). Assist with QA/QC documentation and verification packages (photos, checklists, inspections, punch items). Help compile turnover/closeout materials (O&M binders, warranties, as-builts, training confirmations) where required. Coordinate utility / third-party touchpoints (inspections, testing documentation, commissioning readiness) as directed by PM/field leadership. Qualifications Construction experience or experience in a similar field. Results-driven ability to manage and follow up on multiple priorities. Organized and team-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills. Commitment to quality and attention to detail. Proficient with industry-standard computer skills and software (MS Office, Excel & Outlook , Adobe Acrobat , etc.). Ability to learn and adapt quickly. Familiarity with solar project workflows (utility-scale, community solar, or rooftop PV). Experience with construction documentation platforms (e.g., Procore) and PDF markup tools (e.g., Bluebeam). Experience coordinating permits/inspections and supporting closeout packages on fast-track projects.
